Bielefeld Graduate School in History and Sociology (BGHS)

The Bielefeld Graduate School in History and Sociology (BGHS) offers doctoral researchers an interdisciplinary environment that combines research from sociology, history, political science, anthropology, and gender studies within a joint framework. The program supports international doctoral researchers and provides career development and opportunities to participate in international conferences, with language of instruction in German and English. It aims to prepare doctoral researchers for academic or non-academic careers in Germany and abroad.

Doctoral researchers (PhD candidates) from any field whose research has a sociological and/or historical focus; both historians/sociologists and other disciplines are welcome.
