DAAD-NRF Joint Scholarship Programme South Africa 2026

The DAAD-NRF Joint Scholarship Programme South Africa 2026 provides funding for South African citizens or permanent residents to pursue full-time Master’s or PhD degrees at South African universities. It offers in-country/in-region scholarship opportunities with additional funding and networking benefits for recipients. The scholarship supports research experiences in South Africa and Germany via the NRF-DAAD In-Country Scholarship.

Open to South African nationals or permanent residents. Female applicants are especially encouraged to apply.

Applications have to be submitted to NRF; final selection is by a joint panel of NRF and DAAD representatives.
