Sea to Stars Fellowship 2026–2027

The Sea to Stars Fellowship is a funded graduate research program offered jointly by North Carolina Sea Grant and North Carolina Space Grant. It supports academically strong, faculty-mentored research that connects coastal systems with NASA and NOAA data, tools, or instruments, for the 2026–2027 academic year. Two fellowships are awarded, with direct research support and opportunities for professional visibility and outreach.

Direct research funding up to $10,000, professional visibility through presenting findings at state events, and participation in outreach activities related to the research impact

Applicants must be enrolled as full-time graduate students at an accredited university in North Carolina, be in good academic standing, conduct faculty-mentored research, be a U.S. citizen, and propose research aligned with NC Sea Grant and NC Space Grant priorities using NOAA and NASA data, with the project beginning after June 1, 2026 and concluding by May 31, 2027.
