JSPS–SOKENDAI Summer Program 2026

The JSPS–SOKENDAI Summer Program is a fully funded two-month research fellowship in Japan for outstanding pre-doctoral and postdoctoral researchers. It provides support to pursue independent research under a host supervisor at a Japanese university or research institute, along with orientation on Japanese culture and language learning opportunities.

Full travel coverage, living stipend, insurance, and research support allowances; cultural orientation and language learning opportunities.

Open to pre-doctoral and postdoctoral researchers who meet nationality and academic status conditions and must obtain host acceptance before nomination.

Identify a host researcher in Japan, obtain host acceptance, then apply through the national nominating authority to JSPS.
