Bamforth Postgraduate Scholarship

The Bamforth Postgraduate Scholarship supports research on the history, literature and culture of Scotland and on the effects of Scottish migration to New Zealand and elsewhere. It is available to students enrolled in a Master’s or PhD at the University of Otago. The scholarship contributes to living costs and pays tuition fees, with specified annual stipend amounts for Master’s and PhD recipients.

Annual stipend (NZ$18,204 for Master’s; NZ$34,128 for PhD) and tuition fee payment by the University of Otago except student services fees.

Applicants must be students from New Zealand enrolled in a Master’s or PhD at the University of Otago, conducting research about Scotland or topics related to the University of Otago.
