The Africa Thesis Award recognises outstanding master’s theses on African topics. It is an annual initiative by the African Studies Centre Leiden that includes a prize and publication of the winner’s thesis in the African Studies Collection.

Benefici

Prize of €500 and publication of the thesis in the African Studies Collection.

Requisiti

Theses completed at a university in the Netherlands or in an African country between August 31, 2024 and August 31, 2025; written in English, French, or Dutch; based on empirical research within Social Sciences or Humanities; focuses on an African country, region, or diaspora; graded at least 8/10 or equivalent.

Candidatura

Submit a digital version of the thesis, a 300-word summary, and a signed letter of recommendation by the supervisor via email to asc@asc.leidenuniv.nl.
