Belonging in Oakland: A Just City Cultural Fund 2026 offers a three-year, fully funded grant package to collaborative partnerships of artists and cultural practitioners or social change organizations working in Oakland to advance racial equity, social justice, and community transformation. Each selected collaboration receives $100,000 per year for three years, plus a living stipend for participating artists and additional funds for documenting the work, totaling a grant value of $300,000 per collaboration.

Annual grant funding, living stipends for artists, dedicated funding for documenting the work, and long-term support to strengthen partnerships and civic impact.

Lead applicants must be a cultural organization working with artists or a social change organization collaborating with artists and culture bearers; applicants must be based in Oakland, serve BIPOC communities, demonstrate experience in community engagement, have evidence of successful partnerships, and have an operating budget of at least $500,000.
