Česko-saský vzdělávací program na Gymnáziu Friedricha Schillera v Pirně

A bilateral Czech–Saxon programme that enables Czech pupils to study in a bilingual six-year cycle (grades 7–12) at Gymnasium Friedrich Schiller in Pirna. Each year one binational class opens with places for 14 Czech pupils studying alongside 14 German pupils. The programme includes German-language instruction by German teachers, Czech-language instruction by Czech teachers, boarding in a school dormitory, and completion with the Saxon maturitní zkouška (Saxon school-leaving examination) providing university entrance qualification.

Free textbooks and teaching materials for Czech-language subjects; school boarding and meals paid by the Czech and Saxon ministries; supervised dormitory care and extracurricular programme; completion with the Saxon maturitní zkouška and an accompanying nostrification document.

Přihlásit se mohou žákyně/žáci z Česka z 6. tříd základní školy nebo odpovídajícího ročníku víceletého gymnázia; v případě uvolněného místa jsou možné dodatečné přijímací zkoušky do 7.–10. ročníku. Předpokladem přijetí je výborný prospěch a znalost německého nebo anglického jazyka (předchozí znalost němčiny není nutná).

Selection is by a two-stage entrance examination: standardized cognitive tests and a personality maturity test in the first round; a psychologist interview and an oral foreign-language exam (German or English) in the second round.
