Lead Financial Markets Expert (DG/M)

The Lead Financial Markets Expert is a fixed-term professional position within the Senior Management Office of the Directorate General Market Operations (DG/M) at the European Central Bank. The role involves steering analytical and strategic policy work on monetary policy implementation, financial market functioning and the digital transformation of finance, including tokenisation. The position is full time, based in Frankfurt am Main, and offers professional development, training and mentoring opportunities within a multicultural team.

Monthly net salary of €8,318 (salary H bracket 1 - step 1) plus benefits; training, mentoring and support for horizontal mobility.

Applicants must be EU nationals. Essential qualifications include a master’s degree or equivalent in economics, finance, business administration, STEM or another relevant field and a minimum of six years’ professional experience (excluding traineeships and internships) in central banking, financial regulation, prudential policy-making or another relevant field, with some direct exposure to technology and innovation.
