SQA Undergraduate Research Scholarship

The SQA Undergraduate Research Scholarship provides undergraduate students with a 6-week supervised research project in quantum technology hosted by one of the SQA partner universities. The programme aims to develop research skills and encourage students part-way through their undergraduate degrees to consider further research in quantum technology. Projects run full-time over a six-week period in January–February 2027 and selection encourages gender diversity.

AU$3,333 stipend for a 6-week full-time (35 hours/week) research project and supervised research experience at an SQA partner university.

Applicants must be enrolled in an undergraduate program at an SQA partner university or be a domestic undergraduate student attending a university in NSW; international students are eligible if enrolled at an SQA partner university. Applicants must have completed the equivalent of 1.5 years of full-time study; previous recipients are not eligible and successful candidates cannot hold another similar research scholarship during the project period. Some places will be prioritised for students who identify as women.

Applicants provide student details, confirmation of study completion and availability, project preferences, a personal statement and academic transcript. Applications are submitted via the SQA scholarship application link; the UNSW page indicates applicants cannot apply through the UNSW system.
