John Monash Scholarship

The John Monash Scholarship enables outstanding Australians to pursue a master's or PhD program at any world-class university outside of Australia with no restrictions on field of study or institution. The scholarship provides an annual stipend of $100,000 AUD for up to three years and may be used for tuition fees, accommodation, and living expenses. Scholars receive a one-off travel allowance and personalised career support and leadership development through the Leadership Academy. Partner universities may offer additional bursaries or fee waivers for scholars.

Australian citizens who have completed (or will complete by the end of 2026) an undergraduate degree at an Australian university and who plan to start a full-time master's or PhD at an overseas university in 2027 may apply. Applicants seeking funding for current postgraduate study or programs starting in 2026, or planning to study at an Australian university, are ineligible.

Applicants must submit a professional resume, official academic transcripts, three letters of recommendation and a budget plan (using the provided template).
