Junior Professional Officer (JPO) Programme 2026

The Junior Professional Officer (JPO) Programme 2026 is a Belgium-funded initiative placing early-career professionals in United Nations organizations for typically a one-year contract, with potential extension up to three years. Selected fellows work on operational or policy functions in postings such as Political Affairs, Humanitarian Affairs, and Coordination, and receive a UN contract, mentoring, and training support. Most posts are reserved for Belgian nationals, with a limited number of posts open to partner countries; applicants must hold a Master’s degree, have at least 2 years of relevant professional experience, and be 32 years old or younger (as of the call year). Proficiency in English and French is required.
