Powering Renewable Energy Opportunities (PREO) Open Call 2025

Powering Renewable Energy Opportunities (PREO) is an open grant call to support the implementation of Productive Uses of Renewable Energy (PURE) in sub-Saharan Africa. It accepts applications from enterprises piloting innovative PURE business models in sectors such as solar water pumping, cold storage, agro-processing, food value chains, and electric mobility. The programme aims to bolster investment and engagement in the PURE sector to drive local economic development and contribute to SDG7, SDG8 and SDG13.

Funding through grants (up to EUR 200,000 per grant, with potential consideration of higher amounts) to scale PURE business models; supports for project implementation over 12-24 months.

Open to any legally registered and physically established business or non-profit organisation based in a sub-Saharan Africa country, excluding South Africa.
