forNature is a National Geographic program that advances the Rights of Nature movement by supporting research and legal efforts to secure protections for species and ecosystems. The program supports a cohort of Explorers who work with scientists, Indigenous peoples, local communities, storytellers and legal experts to generate evidence and legal frameworks recognizing nature's rights. Projects include biodiversity research, community-led monitoring, databases, and legal briefs aimed at securing rights-based protections.
