Institute for Law & AI’s Summer Research Fellowship 2025

The Institute for Law & AI’s Summer Research Fellowship 2025 is a paid summer program for law students, professionals, and academics to work at the leading edge of AI law and policy. The program combines tailored research mentorship with career planning and opportunities to engage with policymakers, researchers, and leaders in the field, plus networking and potential follow-on opportunities.

Stipend of $15,000; in-person week in Washington, D.C. with travel, accommodation, and meals covered; mentorship from research staff and affiliates; Q&A sessions with leading experts; networking opportunities; career planning resources; potential follow-on funding or opportunities.

Applicants from all countries who are law students, professionals, or academics with an interest in AI law and policy; candidates include graduate law students, PhD candidates, postdocs, undergraduate law students in their final year, professionals transitioning into the field, and legal academics.

Submit academic CV and brief application form by Jan 15, 2025; complete recorded video responses; participate in a research interview; decisions are made on a rolling basis.
