Artist Residency Opportunity in Switzerland 2027 with a CHF 6,000 Grant, Accommodation, and Travel Coverage

The TRACES Art & Science program offers a funded international artist residency in Switzerland for professional visual artists, aiming to strengthen collaboration between art, science and research. The residency will take place in Sion, with collaboration from EPFL and the Laboratory of Materials for Renewable Energy, providing various forms of support to develop interdisciplinary work.

CHF 6,000 total funding, CHF 2,000 monthly stipend, round-trip travel coverage up to CHF 1,500, accommodation in a self-catering apartment, access to workspace and EPFL laboratories, and a dedicated art production budget.

Applicants must be professional visual artists with at least 2 years of professional experience, at least 25 years old, and must be able to work in English. They should propose a project related to science, energy materials, light or sustainability and be able to collaborate with researchers during the full residency.

Prepare and submit documents in English or French: Cover Letter, Statement of Intent, Portfolio, and Artistic CV. Applications should be complete and include a proposal related to science/energy materials and sustainability.
