Reading PhD Scholarship (International PhD Studentship)

The Reading PhD Scholarship (International PhD Studentship) is a competitive doctoral scholarship for international students undertaking PhD research at the University of Reading. It covers international tuition fees, provides a training and development allowance and, for campus-based students, a living stipend. The studentship is available for full-time and part-time PhD study starting October 2027 and supports up to four years full-time (or six years part-time). Selection is by school-level nomination followed by a final selection panel.

Full payment of international tuition fees; £1,000 per annum training and development allowance; campus-based living stipend (~£21,805 p.a. as noted for 2026/27); funded duration up to 4 years full-time (6 years part-time).

Open to international applicants who have applied for admission to a PhD programme at the University of Reading. Off-campus/distance students are eligible for tuition fee coverage and the training allowance only; stipends are restricted to campus-based students.
