CAPSI/Mastercard Foundation PhD Fellowship 2025

The CAPSI/Mastercard Foundation PhD Fellowship 2025 is a doctoral fellowship hosted by the Centre on African Philanthropy and Social Investment (CAPSI) at Wits Business School, University of the Witwatersrand, with Mastercard Foundation support. It targets young African doctoral students registered at African universities to research the non-profit sector’s contributions to African economies, with a focus on dignified and fulfilling work for youth. The fellowship provides a fully funded scholarship of up to $30,000 per year and targets female applicants from a specified list of African countries.

Female applicants from and focusing on one of the specified African countries, aged 35 or below, currently enrolled full-time in a relevant doctoral programme at an African university, with research aligned to the project.
