HUMSAM-prisen

HUMSAM-prisen is a biennial prize for outstanding research in the humanities and social sciences (including law, theology and educational science). The prize is awarded by Det Norske Videnskaps-Akademi and carries a monetary award; the prizewinner is expected to give a prize lecture. The award was established by the Stefi and Lars Fylkesakers foundation and was first given in 2015.

Prize money of kr 350 000 and the obligation/opportunity to hold a prize lecture.

The prize may be given to Norwegian citizens and to foreign citizens with permanent residence in Norway.

Fagkomité (a specialist committee) nominates candidates; committee members may propose candidates. The Academy's board appoints the winner based on the committee's recommendation.
