University of Edinburgh Commonwealth Distance Learning Scholarship 2026

The Commonwealth Distance Learning Scholarships are funded by the Commonwealth Scholarships Commission (CSC) and are aimed at candidates from low- and middle-income countries who wish to study part-time postgraduate programmes online from UK universities, specifically the University of Edinburgh. The scholarship supports distance learning for selected UK online master's programmes and enables the recipient to earn a UK Master’s degree from home.

Full tuition coverage; online study access; learning support for up to five years; UK Master’s degree from home

Applicants must be citizens of, or hold refugee status in, an eligible Commonwealth country, or be a British Protected Person; must be permanently resident in an eligible country; and must hold an upper-second-class undergraduate degree or have relevant work experience with a lower qualification; must be unable to afford to study without the scholarship; must provide at least one academic or professional reference; and must obtain an unconditional offer to study their chosen programme.

Three-step process: (1) CSC assesses eligibility and forwards candidates to the University of Edinburgh; (2) University of Edinburgh nominates candidates from that list; (3) CSC selects the final scholars and notifies successful applicants, with results typically released in July.
