Academic Scholarships and Summer Research Awards

A set of departmental academic scholarships and summer research awards for University of Washington undergraduate chemistry and biochemistry students. Academic scholarships provide tuition awards ($1,000–$2,500) and book awards ($500). Summer Research Awards provide a $6,000 stipend to support full-time laboratory research with Department of Chemistry faculty during the summer quarter.

$500 book awards, $1,000–$2,500 tuition scholarships, and $6,000 summer research stipends; disbursement to student account or at start of summer quarter.

Undergraduate students who are currently declared chemistry or biochemistry majors; summer research awards invite current and aspiring chemistry/biochemistry majors at earlier stages of their education who demonstrate financial need. International students or those graduating in spring/winter 2026 must have eligibility to work on campus verified.
