R-IH Summer Internship Program in Japan 2025

RIKEN's R-IH Summer Internship Program in Japan 2025 is a fully funded internship offering undergraduate and graduate students a chance to work in Guardian Robot Project (GRP) research groups in Kyoto, Japan. The program focuses on robotics research blending psychology, brain science, cognitive science and AI, with two participation categories: a Long Stay Type A from July 24 to September 19, 2025 and a Short Stay Type B from August 21 to September 19, 2025.

Round-trip airfare or bullet train fare, accommodation and daily allowance, reimbursement of daily expenses, commuting expenses for nearby universities, travel reimbursements according to RIKEN policy.

Applicants should be undergraduate or graduate students and may be from Japan or overseas; applicants must be enrolled at their university at the time of application.

Submit application documents by email to robotics-info@ml.riken.jp; selection committee reviews documents; shortlisted applicants will have an online interview; results announced in April 2025.
