Fulbright-Nehru Doctoral Research Fellowships

The Fulbright-Nehru Doctoral Research Fellowships offer Indian PhD scholars a fully funded opportunity to conduct research in the United States for a period of 6 to 9 months, with access to U.S. universities and research facilities. The program aims to strengthen India–U.S. academic collaboration and support doctoral researchers in advancing their dissertations through international mentorship and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Monthly stipend, round-trip airfare, visa support, health coverage, settling-in allowance, professional support funds, access to U.S. university facilities and mentorship.

Open to Indian citizens currently registered for a PhD at an Indian institution, whose research contributes directly to their doctoral thesis.

Submit applications through the official Fulbright-Nehru online portal with required documents such as research proposals, transcripts and supervisor letters.
