OIST Visiting Scholars Program 2026-27

The OIST Visiting Scholars Program offers a fully funded research opportunity at the Okinawa Institute of Science & Technology for researchers to undertake independent projects under a mentor, spanning 3 to 12 months. The program covers accommodation, travel, and living expenses, with access to state-of-the-art facilities and opportunities to present research. It welcomes applicants from around the world and provides mentorship and a chance to collaborate with OIST faculty.

Hands-on research experience, mentorship, access to OIST facilities and computing resources, and opportunity to deliver talks or lectures related to the research.

Applicants holding a PhD and who are independent researchers (e.g., junior group leaders or faculty members) from any nationality are invited to apply.
