Paid Artist Residencies in France

The Institut Français offers residencies at the Cité internationale des arts in Paris for foreign artists residing outside France, to develop a research and creation project for three or six months. The program provides a studio-apartment, a monthly allowance, and supports travel funding through partner networks. Each year, nearly 70 artists benefit from a residency in Paris, across a range of disciplines including visual arts, music, design, theatre, literature, and more.

Applications must be supported by one or several cultural partners; candidates may contact associated organizers to build the project before submission.
