HAW.International Research Scholarships 2027

The HAW.International Research Scholarship is a DAAD-funded mobility grant for doctoral candidates enrolled at German Universities of Applied Sciences (HAW). It supports stays abroad for one to six months to conduct doctoral research, with funding for living costs, travel, insurance, research expenses, and potential family-related benefits. The program prioritizes targeted international research stays at universities, non-university research institutes, archives, or field locations worldwide, including the possibility of dividing the stay across multiple institutions or countries when academically justified.

Living costs, travel, insurance, research expenses, additional family-related benefits, and a monthly research/conference allowance.

Open to doctoral candidates pursuing a doctorate at a German University of Applied Sciences (HAW) or in a cooperative doctoral program, within three years of starting their doctoral studies.

Submit applications according to DAAD guidelines; rolling intake with a deadline at least three months before the intended research stay begins.
