TWAS-SN Bose Postgraduate Fellowship Programme 2025/2026

The TWAS-SN Bose Postgraduate Fellowship Programme offers fellowships to young foreign scientists from developing countries to pursue research towards a PhD at the S.N. Bose National Centre for Basic Sciences in Kolkata, India. Fellowships are for studies leading to a PhD in one of the natural sciences or life sciences, for four years with the possibility of a one-year extension. Benefits include a monthly stipend for living costs and food, on-campus accommodation, and partial reimbursement of medical costs, with certain conditions and requirements related to health insurance.

Monthly living stipend, on-campus accommodation, partial reimbursement for medical costs incurred in Kolkata, access to a Contributory Medical Scheme; applicants must have their own medical insurance.

Candidates must be nationals of a developing country (not India), under 35 years old on 31 December of the application year, hold a Master's Degree in Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Mathematics, be accepted by a department of the S.N. Bose National Centre for Basic Sciences, and have evidence of English proficiency if applicable.

Applications must be submitted via the online portal, and an Acceptance Letter from a SN Bose Centre department is required to complete the application.
