AREF Excell Malaria Researcher & Leadership Development Programme 2026-2028

AREF Excell Malaria Researcher & Leadership Development Programme provides capacity-building for African post-doctoral malaria researchers to develop research leadership skills and progress their careers over two years. The programme includes conferences, project funding, workshops, mentoring, and online resources to strengthen research capacity and collaboration.

Applicants must be employees of an African institution with a significant role in malaria research, and nationals of an African state; criteria include 2-8 years of post-PhD research experience (or MD with research master's and 4-8 years of research experience) and must not have previously participated in Excell.

Institutional Lead coordinates nomination of five researchers; competitive process takes about 6-8 weeks.
