CIFAR Global Scholars Program 2027–2029 with CAD 100,000 in Research Funding

The CIFAR Global Scholars Program supports researchers at an early stage of their independent academic careers. Selected researchers join one of CIFAR’s programs for two years and collaborate with international researchers, receiving leadership training, career mentorship, and research funding. The program targets researchers from natural sciences, biomedical sciences, social sciences, and humanities, with a focus on high-risk, high-impact work and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Unrestricted CAD 100,000 over two years; funding to support students or postdocs; teaching release time coverage; travel funding for CIFAR meetings; opportunities for collaboration and mentorship; leadership training; science communication and engagement training.

Open to researchers holding a PhD or equivalent and in an early stage of their independent career, who lead independent research as a Principal Investigator and supervise or teach students or researchers, with a full-time appointment at a university or research institution and English proficiency.
