Maintenance Support Technician

The Maintenance Support Technician is a fixed-term technical position within CERN’s Technology Department, working with the cryogenics maintenance team on maintenance preparation, coordination and implementation for large cryogenic systems. The role involves collecting and consolidating maintenance data, supporting on-site maintenance activities, rolling out new maintenance methodologies and contributing to quality assurance and maintenance policies for HL-LHC assets. The position offers on-the-job and formal training and the possibility to extend the contract up to 36 months.

Monthly net stipend (4687 CHF); 30 days paid leave plus 2 weeks annual closure; CERN comprehensive health insurance for the employee, spouse and children; membership of the CERN Pension Fund; family, child and infant allowances as applicable; relocation package (installation grant and travel expenses) depending on circumstances; on-the-job and formal training including language classes.

Applicants must be nationals of a CERN Member State or Associate Member State (with some exceptions). By the application deadline they must have a maximum of 2 years of professional experience since graduation in a technical or administrative field, have a highest qualification of a general secondary education diploma or a shorter non-university degree, must not hold a bachelor’s, master’s degree or PhD, and must never have had a CERN fellow or graduate contract before.
