World Food Forum Transformative Research Challenge 2025

The World Food Forum Transformative Research Challenge (TRC) is a global competition that invites young researchers to develop innovative solutions to transform agrifood systems. Teams of early-career researchers compete to propose actionable research projects, with finalists presenting at the TRC Finals at FAO headquarters in Rome. The program offers funding, visibility, networking opportunities, and potential continued support through related initiatives.

Up to USD 10,000 in research funding, potential additional USD 10,000 for the overall winner, global visibility, networking with experts and UN agencies, capacity development, invitation to present at the TRC Finals at FAO headquarters, and potential post-awards support through related programs.

Open to teams of 3-5 individuals, all entrants aged between 18 and 35 at submission and with at least a bachelor’s degree in a field related to agrifood systems.
