Ernest F. Hollings Undergraduate Scholarship

The Ernest F. Hollings Undergraduate Scholarship is a program administered by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) to support undergraduate training in oceanic and atmospheric science, research, technology, and education. Awards include academic assistance for up to two years of full-time study and a 10-week, full-time paid internship at a NOAA facility. The program aims to increase public understanding of ocean and atmosphere stewardship and to recruit and prepare students for public service and teaching careers in related fields.

Up to $9,500 per year for two years of academic assistance; a 10-week paid NOAA internship at $700/week; travel funds for mandatory orientation and the annual Science & Education Symposium; conference travel funds; housing subsidy during the summer internship.
