The Georgian Calligraphy Competition is a multi-stage national contest for calligraphy practice and preservation of Georgian script traditions. It is open to school pupils (grades VII–IX and X–XII), students at all higher education levels, other adults and interested persons living abroad. The competition comprises three rounds (selection, semifinal and final), with the semifinal and final held at the National Centre of Manuscripts and including practical calligraphy tasks and educational talks on Georgian calligraphy. Winners are identified in five contest groups and in special nominations; winning works are exhibited and preserved at the National Centre of Manuscripts.

応募資格

Open to pupils of Georgian public and private schools (grades VII–IX and X–XII), students of higher education at bachelor/master/PhD levels, other adult interested persons, and interested persons living abroad. School participants submit samples via their school and resource centres; students and other adults submit directly to the National Centre of Manuscripts.

Submit an original handwritten sample (100–150 words in Mkhedruli script) as specified: school participants submit via their school to the relevant resource centre; students and other adults submit directly to the National Centre of Manuscripts. Semifinal and final rounds involve on-site practical tasks at the National Centre of Manuscripts.
