Stein Rokkan Prize for Comparative Social Science Research

The Stein Rokkan Prize for Comparative Social Science Research is an annual prize awarded for substantial and original contributions in comparative social science research across all social science disciplines. The prize is funded by the University of Bergen and is presented by the International Science Council (ISC) in partnership with ECPR. The prize carries a monetary award of 5,000 EUR and recognizes published monographs meeting eligibility criteria.

Open to candidates from all social science disciplines; work must be a published monograph and must have been published in the two calendar years preceding the award (e.g., for 2026, 2024 or 2025).

Nominations must be submitted via the Nomination Form on the ECPR website; nominations may be submitted by scientific institutions and should include a formal nomination letter, a biography of the candidate, a book title and year of publication, and a PDF copy of the book.
