Hermann Niermann Foundation and European Institute of the German Language Scholarships

The Hermann Niermann Foundation and the European Institute of the German Language offer scholarships to support study and research in German language, literature and culture. The programme targets master students, doctoral candidates and researchers and funds stays at universities and institutes in Germany. Recipients receive a monthly allowance and additional financial support adapted to the duration and profile of the stay, and access to academic and bibliographic resources at partner institutions.

Monthly allowance (950–2,250 EUR depending on level and duration), financial support for stay and research expenses, access to academic and bibliographic resources in Germany.

Open to highly qualified master students, doctoral candidates and researchers specializing in German language, German literature, German linguistics, cultural studies or German philology who originate from countries of Central, Eastern and South-Eastern Europe and who present a research or study project in Germanistics.
