Cucalorus Works-in-Progress Lab for Filmmakers 2025

The Cucalorus Works-in-Progress Lab for Filmmakers 2025 funds a weeklong residency that supports social justice documentary projects with a focus on Black storytelling. Selected filmmakers receive feedback on their work in progress, participate in workshops and consultations, and engage with audiences through community screenings and mentorship from experienced documentary filmmakers.

Travel, housing, meals, local transport, and festival passes; mentorship and workshop opportunities during the residency.

Films may be shorts, features, or episodic nonfiction works at any stage of development, with some sample footage to show at feedback screenings.
