AOS Student Presentation Awards

The AOS Student Presentation Awards are annual competitive awards for students who give an outstanding poster or oral presentation at the American Ornithological Society annual meeting. Multiple named awards are offered for excellence in ornithological research and presentation, including topic-specific and general awards. Awards include an honorarium for recipients and are administered by the Travel Grants and Presentation Awards Committee.

Monetary honorarium of $500–$1,000 per award; recognition as recipient of a named AOS presentation award.

Applicants must be current AOS members and the sole presenting author of a poster or oral paper; eligible students include full-time or recently graduated undergraduate, master's, and doctoral students (students graduating the semester prior to the meeting are eligible). Students giving 15-minute symposium talks are eligible; those giving longer symposium talks are not.

Submit an abstract for the general scientific sessions via the Abstract Submission Portal and answer the presentation-award questions on the submission form; invited nominees are notified to compete.
