Fall Seed Grant 2026

The Fall Seed Grant 2026 is a competitive funding initiative supporting monocentric seed research projects on specified rare genetic diseases. Two targeted calls fund projects on cblC methylmalonic acidemia with homocystinuria and on neurodevelopmental disorders caused by SLC6A1 mutations. Projects have fixed maximum durations and budgets and are supported through a collaboration between Fondazione Telethon and patient associations. Eligible projects are intended to advance understanding of disease mechanisms and identify potential therapeutic approaches.

Project funding (budget caps and durations as above) to support research activities

Open to all researchers (including those already funded by Fondazione Telethon ETS) working in Italian research institutions, public or private non-profit, including Telethon Institutes (SR-TIGET and TIGEM). Each researcher may participate as Lead Applicant with only one project.

Apply via the Fondazione Telethon Grant Management System portal. voluntary registration on the portal with basic project data is encouraged by 2026-10-30.
