IES travel awards for conference attendance 2026

Travel awards offered by the International EPR/ESR Society (IES) to support PhD students and fixed-term contract post-doctoral researchers to attend IES-sponsored conferences in 2026. Awards provide a payment to cover conference-related expenses; one award is available for each eligible conference, with additional smaller awards at some meetings. Applicants must submit a short case for attendance, their conference abstract, and a supervisor support letter; successful awards are paid after the conference on receipt of attendance documentation.

A stipend of up to the stated amount to cover conference-related expenses; stipend is paid after the conference on receipt of a certificate of attendance, a list of travel/registration costs and a short article for the IES Newsletter. Poster and oral contribution prizes are also presented at listed conferences.

PhD students and fixed-term contract post-doctoral researchers may apply; the applicant and their supervisor must be existing members of the IES. No more than one award per year will be made to the same research group and successful applicants cannot apply again.

Email a short case for the merit of attendance plus conference abstract to the group secretary, along with a short letter of support from the supervisor on headed paper with signature. Awards decided on validity and order of applications; stipend awarded after conference on presentation of documentation.
