Swiss Olympiad in Informatics

A national informatics olympiad for secondary‑school students in Switzerland, consisting of multiple rounds (online first and second rounds), workshops, a week-long national training camp in Sarnen and finals. Top finalists are considered for selection to international contests including EGOI, CEOI and IOI. There are separate junior and regular categories and additional events such as a girlscamp for female participants.

Workshops teaching C++ and algorithms; week-long national training camp for top qualifiers with lectures and training contests; invitation to Finals and potential selection to international teams (EGOI, CEOI, IOI); girlscamp with travel, accommodation and food covered.

School students participate in junior and regular categories; junior eligibility requires that the contestant can participate this year and the following two years. The girlscamp is open to all girls age 12–19 who live in Switzerland.

First Round is a 40-minute online multiple-choice quiz taken in class or individually. Successful participants proceed to the online Second Round (junior and regular categories). Top Second Round participants qualify for the Sarnen camp and the Finals; team selection events in Bern and Zürich select delegations for international contests.
