SADC Secondary School Essay Competition 2025 for Students from SADC Member States

The SADC Secondary School Essay Competition invites learners to submit an essay in English (or French/Portuguese) within specified word limits. The competition recognises regional cooperation and includes monetary prizes at regional and national levels, along with certificates and travel for the top regional winners to receive their prizes at the SADC Summit opening ceremony.

Regional prizes: 1st USD 1500, 2nd USD 1000, 3rd USD 750; top 10 regional winners receive certificates; top three regional winners travel to the host member state for the official prize ceremony; national prizes include USD 500, USD 300 and USD 200; certificates awarded by ministers/exec secretary.

Entries must be submitted in English, French or Portuguese with the required word counts and include the question at the top; references may be used where necessary but do not count toward the word limit.
