Care Experienced Scholarship (Open University)

The Open University offers a Care Experienced Scholarship for the 2026/27 academic year to remove financial barriers and expand access to higher education for young people with care experience. It provides full funding for undergraduate study, enabling recipients to study through OU’s distance-learning model from home. The scholarship supports up to 360 credits in total and covers tuition fees for eligible undergraduate qualifications.

Fully funded undergraduate study with access to OU’s flexible, distance-learning model and support from OU student services and academic teams.

Applicants must be 30 years old or under on 1 September 2026, begin OU study in the 2026/27 academic year, ordinarily reside in the UK and be eligible for UK fee status, hold no existing higher education qualification, and meet care-experience and income criteria.
