ARUA Early-Career Research Fellowship 2026–2027

The ARUA Early-Career Research Fellowship Programme offers six-month residential fellowships across ARUA Centres of Excellence and Clusters of Research Excellence in Africa. It supports emerging African researchers to conduct collaborative research, with a focus on high-potential candidates who can reside full-time at a host institution. Selected fellows are expected to publish a high-impact article, present research, and help develop new research partnerships.

Monthly stipend, accommodation, return travel, and potential additional support for qualifying women researchers; workspace at the host CoE/CoRE.

Applicants must be African nationals, be 35 years or younger, hold an academic or research position at an African university, and have a PhD completed within the last five years.

Submit a set of documents through ARUA’s official online portal, including a cover letter, CV, letter of support, proof of PhD, a concept note, writing samples, and a residency plan.
