African Design Centre Fellowship 2026–2027

The African Design Centre Fellowship is a 12-month paid residency based in Kigali, Rwanda, aimed at emerging African architecture, urban design, landscape architecture, engineering, and related professionals. It provides exposure to real-world projects, mentorship, and opportunities to develop leadership and applied design research addressing Africa’s infrastructure and development needs.

Applicants must be nationals of an African country, 35 years old or younger, hold a degree in architecture, urban design, landscape architecture, engineering, or a related field, and be willing to relocate to Kigali, Rwanda for the full duration of the fellowship.

Three-stage selection: Stage 1 submissions (CV, references, portfolio, alignment statement); Stage 2 essay submission for shortlisted candidates; Stage 3 interviews.
