IEEE Underwater Technology (UT)

The IEEE Underwater Technology (UT) is a flagship symposium of the IEEE Oceanic Engineering Society (OES) and IEEE OES Japan Chapter, focused on emerging underwater technologies and their applications. It aims to promote collaboration among underwater researchers worldwide, with emphasis on researchers from Asia, and provides opportunities and encouragement for young researchers from academia and industry. The event has a history dating back to 1998 and has been hosted in multiple Asian countries, with UT27 planned to return to Tokyo in February–March 2027, supported by the University of Tokyo.
