KAAD Stipendienprogramm 1

KAAD Stipendienprogramm 1 is a scholarship programme for graduates and professionals from selected countries in Africa, Asia, the Near and Middle East, and Latin America to pursue postgraduate study, doctoral studies, post-doctoral research or short research stays at German higher education institutions. The programme expects applicants to have a university degree, relevant professional experience, and a study or research plan oriented toward reintegration in their home region. The scholarship includes participation in a mandatory educational programme and may include preparatory language training.

Scholarship funding for study or research at a German university; possible German language course in Germany up to 6 months; participation in a mandatory educational programme.

Applicants must come from a country in Africa, Asia, the Near and Middle East, or Latin America and currently be residing there; hold a university degree and have professional experience; intend to pursue a Master's, postgraduate study, doctoral study, post-doc or a 2–6 month research stay at a German university; be of Catholic confession (applicants of other religions may be considered if proposed by Catholic partners demonstrating willingness to engage in interreligious dialogue); have prior German language knowledge (B1 for participation in the educational programme, A2 for English-language courses).

Applications are submitted via KAAD partner committees in the applicant's country/region; an online initial application form is available.
