DFG Special Programme for Ukraine

The DFG Special Programme for Ukraine provides additional funding measures to support research cooperation with partners in Ukraine and to assist Ukrainian researchers affected by the war. Eligible German applicants may request funds for project implementation in Ukraine and may request a living allowance for Ukrainian project leaders. The programme can be used for new DFG proposals under the existing “Cooperation with Developing Countries” instrument or as supplementary (additional) requests to already running DFG projects.

Funding for project activities in Ukraine and a monthly living allowance for Ukrainian project leaders of up to 1,000 EUR per month per project leader.

Applicants working in Germany who submit new DFG proposals under the “Cooperation with Developing Countries” instrument or submit supplementary (additional) requests to existing DFG-funded projects; projects must involve cooperation with partners in Ukraine and the Ukrainian partner institution must provide documentation on reduced or unavailable pre-war salary.
