Korea‑Germany Joint Research Projects in the Engineering Sciences (NRF‑DFG 2026)

A bilateral funding call supporting joint research projects in the engineering sciences conducted by teams in the Republic of Korea and Germany. Selected collaborative projects receive research funding for a period of three years, with the NRF funding the Korean components and the DFG funding the German components. Projects must present joint goals, a joint work plan and balanced contributions from all project partners. Approximately 20 projects will be selected by a joint Korean‑German review panel.

Each project must be jointly conducted by applicants from Korea and Germany; principal investigators on each side must be eligible to apply to their respective funding organisation. Proposals must comply with national rules of the funding organisations.

Lead Agency Procedure: Korean applicants submit a single joint application to the NRF; German applicants submit the same document to the DFG. All documents must be in English and any required DFG project data forms must be submitted with the DFG proposal.
