The National Day for Truth and Reconciliation component of the Commemorate Canada program provides project grants to eligible organizations to increase awareness and commemorate the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation (September 30). Grants are available for community ceremonies, healing workshops, commemorative artworks, educational materials, cultural and artistic initiatives, and other public, free-of-charge events. Funding is awarded to organizations rather than individuals and has a stated maximum per organization.

Project funding (grant) of up to $10,000 to support public, free-of-charge commemorative initiatives related to the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.

지원 자격

Eligible applicants are Indigenous governments, band councils or tribal councils (or delegated authorities); Indigenous not-for-profit organizations or groups; for-profit Indigenous organizations where the project will not result in income generation for the applicant's sole benefit; Indigenous ad hoc committees formed for a specific project; and Indigenous-led institutions including accredited programs. Non-Indigenous applicants may be considered in exceptional circumstances when working in close partnership with an Indigenous organization and including a letter of support.
