Concurso Tiempo Telescopio GEMINI Sur – Semestre 2027-A

The Concurso Tiempo Telescopio GEMINI Sur – Semestre 2027-A allocates Chilean observing time on the Gemini South telescope for scientific research. It is aimed at the national scientific community in astronomy and covers observing opportunities during the first semester of 2027. Successful proposals receive assigned telescope hours rather than direct monetary funding. The scheduled observation window spans the months of February to July 2027.

Applicants must be researchers affiliated with accredited universities, research institutes or centers with legal personality (public or private, non-profit) that develop scientific research and/or teaching; or researchers currently enrolled in accredited Chilean doctoral and/or master's programs who must attach a letter of support from their thesis supervisor. Affiliations must be valid for the observing period.
